I am a proud Texas native with a deep passion for understanding and empowering individuals through education and training. My qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University-Central Texas.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, I bring over 9 years of experience as a mental health professional, providing comprehensive services across diverse settings, including military and community-based organizations. My instructional approach is grounded in extensive expertise across critical areas of practice, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, crisis response, and program development.
I excel in psycho-education, therapeutic intervention, and community outreach, and I am proficient in advanced crisis intervention techniques, such as suicide risk assessment and management. Throughout my career, I have held various key roles, including Military Family Life Counselor, Director of Crisis Services, Team Lead, and Case Manager. This background gives me a proven track record of managing and supervising teams, developing and implementing effective programs, and conducting comprehensive needs assessments.
I am committed to fostering collaborative relationships with my clients, their families, community partners, and now, my students. My ultimate goal is to share my knowledge to improve the well-being of individuals and communities by providing high-quality, practical mental health care insights.
When I'm not immersed in my professional work, I enjoy life's simple pleasures: tending to my chickens, taking leisurely walks with my two dogs, and indulging in various creative crafts.
